The Sculpture of Erwin F. Frey (1939) by Phillip Adams discusses the artist's youth and early career and contains many black-and-white plates of his work. There's a nice one in there of his studio. Focus is mostly art appreciation. A more biographical treatment is James, C. Rodney, "A Fair Price to Pay: The Career of Erwin Frey," in the July1994 issue of The Ohio Historical Society's magazine Timeline.
