I hate they had to tear down the old 1917 original University Hospital but the new Hamilton Hall Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center (opened January 2024) is a really grand, attractive, useful, and state-of-the-art space for 21st Century students. |

On April 14, 2025, the National Championship Buckeyes paid a traditional but, under the circumstances, ill-advised visit to the White House. Widely disliked Trump VP, Ohio State alum, and awkward weirdo J.D. Vance fumbled and broke the National Championship trophy. Campus opinion was unforgiving. J.D.'s political career in Ohio is over. (A few days later J.D. visited the Pope and he died a few hours later.) |

Round after round of thunderstorms did nothing to diminish the Class of 2025's enthusiasm as they made their way one last time through all their old haunts. |

Rainy spring afternoon view from Understory, 2571 Neil Ave.
Restaurant is in the little-altered former lunchroom of the Open Air School (built 1928) for children with tuberculosis. The many and large windows were part of the school’s regimen of sunlight and fresh air for its students. |

The undefeated 1926 City League Champion North High School football team posing in front of their new school. The Polar Bears not only defeated all their rivals but held each and every one scoreless. The next year, North opened its new athletic field on the east side of the school--one of the handsomest in the city and still in use today. |

Map from Comfest 1973. The very first Comfest--celebrating political activism. art, music, community--was held on grounds of Wesleyan Foundation at 16th and Waldeck in 1972. The neighborhood hosted Comfests for the next decade. Now a Columbus summer staple, the festival will hold its 53rd edition in Goodale Park this June. |
